On March 6th, 2024, the Health CLARE (Center for International Healthcare Logistics and Supply Chain), part of Mahidol University's Cluster of Logistics and Rail Engineering, partnered with People that Deliver (PtD) – a unit within UNICEF’s Supply Division – to host the only global conference focusing on human resources in supply chain management: "PtD GLOBAL INDABA 2024: The Supply Chain Workforce: Solution to Transform Supply Chains". During the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr.Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, and Asst. Prof. Dr.Korporn Panyim, Deputy Dean for Administration, Research and Innovation, were honored guests. The first keynote speakers of the conference, Doctor Niti Haetanurak, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health, delivered an address and was continue to be on the first plenary panel session “Emergency response and human resources: Lessons learned to shape a post-pandemic workforce.” Additionally, Asst. Prof. Dr.Ittichote Chuckpaiwong, Vice president for Environment and Sustainable Development at Mahidol University, also spoke on "The Roles of Mahidol University in Collaborating with the Ministry of Public Health in Driving Healthcare Logistics Development and Healthcare Supply Chain Capacity Building for the Country". The steering committee for the conference included Dr. Rawinkhan Srinon, director of Center for International Healthcare Logistics and Supply Chain (Health CLARE), along with technical committee Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thananya Wasusri and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duangphan Kritchanchai from Mahidol University.
This conference provided an international forum, "The PtD GLOBAL INDABA," for government agencies, private sectors, non-profit organizations, and donors to discuss and exchange experiences with healthcare personnel from various countries, as well as international organizations and academia from leading educational institutions. Many participants addressed pain points and solutions in healthcare logistics and health supply chain management, particularly in human resource management, innovation, technology, skills, and motivation. The conference "PtD GLOBAL INDABA 2024: The Supply Chain Workforce: Solution to Transform Supply Chains" took place from March 6th to 8th, 2024, at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel, Bangkok.
