On February 14, 2024, the Faculty of Engineering, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean, along with the management team, 120 department heads, faculty, and staff, participated in the parade at the opening ceremony of the Mahidol University Personnel Sports Competition, 'Mahidol Games 2024: Fun with Thai Style.Assoc. Prof. Bavornrit Chuckpaiwong, Dean of the College of Sports Science and Technology at Mahidol University, reported on the objectives of the event, joined by Mahidol University administrators, department executives, and personnel from various departments within the university. The event took place at Football Stadium 1, Mahidol University, Salaya, where the sports competition was organized for the sports welfare and recreation of university personnel, fostering unity among personnel from various departments.
The Faculty of Engineering participated in the parade competition under the theme 'Fun with Thai Style,' showcasing Thai people's way of life, cultural traditions, and longstanding games representing all four regions of Thailand. The northern region presented the Lanna lantern procession, Yi Peng Lanna tradition, and the fun of Lanna arts and culture. In the southern region, a charming shadow puppet show was featured, along with enjoying delicious Thai food. The northeastern region showcased the 'Muan Suen Bun Bang Fai' with a procession of Phaya Naga rockets and Isaan musical instruments. For the central region, the Songkran tradition of Thai New Year was presented, maintaining the tradition of respecting elders, playing games, and making merit. The procession also included innovations created by engineering lecturers, students, and staff, showcasing the era of change, technology, innovation, and progress. Notable innovations included:
2.'Jod Jum'- a low-cost note-taking device for the visually impaired,
3.'Fuek Fon'- an innovative therapy for stroke patients,
4.'Raen Roo'- an innovative rehabilitation therapy for special children and paralyzed patients. Despite the advancements, the event highlighted that the fun and Thai style remain integral to Thai culture, expressed through laughter, smiles, games, sports, and traditional arts forever.
