On January 9, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Dr. Rojjalak Chuckpaiwong, Deputy Dean for Policy Planning and Quality Assurance, attended the preparatory meeting and memorandum of understanding signing ceremony. The focus of the event was on academic cooperation within the project to attain ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accreditation by 2025. The meeting included discussions on "Experience and good practices in preparing courses for ABET certification by 2025," presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thananya Wasusri, a lecturer from the Industrial Engineering Department. The event, organized by the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, aimed to prepare higher education institutions for ABET accreditation. Executives and representatives from various higher education institutions participated in the event held at the Pathumwan Princess Hotel in Bangkok.
During the occasion, Khun Permsuk Sutchaphiwat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, presided over the memorandum of understanding signing ceremony. The ceremony involved the signing of the MOU on academic cooperation under the project to drive Thai higher education institutions to receive ABET accreditation from the USA by 2025. Representatives of Mahidol University, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sompop Prathanturarug, Vice President for Planning, Quality Development, and Academic Services, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, signed the MOU. The objective of the MOU is to elevate the quality standards of engineering education in Thai higher education institutions to world-class levels and produce graduates with competencies comparable at the international level. Additionally, it aims to promote internationalization and position Mahidol University as a center of higher education in the region for providing quality engineering education.
