On May 15, 2023. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jackrit Suthakorn, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University presided over the Mahidol Engineering Maker Expo 2023: Capstone Project Presentation Event, the best engineering project showcase of 4 th year students in academic year 2023 and gave the opening speech. Asst. Prof. Dr. Pornthip Keangin, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs stated the objectives of the Capstone Project Presentations: to support knowledge and research exchang as well as to showcase the achievements to the public. There were 93 engineering projects presented this year. There were categorized into 4 groups: Healthcare Engineering, Digital Engineering, Logistics & Railway Engineering, and Sustainable & Environmental Engineering. In the event, awards were announced in 3 ranks for each cluster. The winner received 15,000 baht, second prize received 10,000 baht and the third prize received 5,000 baht with certificates for all prizes.
The award results are summarized as follow:
.1. Logistics & Railway Engineering
Winner: Face Synthesis from childhood Image using Generative Adversarial Network, from a group of Computer Engineering students.
2 nd prize: Design of a Cold Chain Logistics Operations Process for Blood: A Case Study of ABC Logistics Co., Ltd, from a group of Industrial Engineering students.
3 rd prize: Mobile Application for Train's Route Planning and Recommendation, from a group of Computer Engineering students.
2. Healthcare Engineering
Winner: Drowsiness detection using ECG on steering wheel, from a group of Electrical Engineering students.
2 nd prize: Real time predictive machine learning model using preictal period EEG signal in Intractable Seizures, from a group of Biomedical Engineering students.
3 rd prize: Artificial Intelligence model for recognition of infant crying sound, from a group of Computer Engineering students.
3. Digital Engineering
Winner: Face Synthesis from childhood Image using Generative Adversarial Network, from a group of Computer Engineering students.
2 nd prize: #NAPS" Neural assisted protective system for Lane Keeping Assistant System, from a group of Electrical Engineering students.
3 rd prize: Structural Design Tasks Automation with Revit, Dynamo and Python, from a group of Civil and Environmental Engineering students and Design and Produce of High-Efficiency PRINT Systems with High-Flexibility Machine Phase II, from a group of Industrial Engineering students.
4. Sustainable & Environmental Engineering
Winner: Melt-resistant Ice Cream Fortified with Okara from Soybean Milk Processing, from a group of Industrial Engineering (International course) students.
2 nd prize: Improving the spirits filling process with defective caps sensing system, from a group of Industrial Engineering students.
3 rd prize: Study and design feasibility of generation electricity from blower fan wind turbines, from a group of Mechanical Engineering students.
