Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jackrit Suthakorn, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahiodol University was invited to a workshop as a guest speaker on the topic “Managing and curriculum developing for ABET certification.” This workshop was held by Chiang Mai University and Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation and was on curriculum quality upgrading for developing graduate quality for ABET certification. This event was honored by Prof. Dr. Pongruk Sribanditmongkol, the president of Chiang Mai University who presided over the proceedings and gave a welcome speech. Also in attendance were Prof. Dr. Methi Wecharatana, President of the Association of Thai Professionals in America and Canada (ATPAC) and Assoc. Prof Dr. Vira Chankong, Academician of the Association of Thai Professionals in America and Canada (ATPAC) who gave a lecture on the topic “The important of Educational Quality Assurance and ABET accreditation”. The event took place on March 15-16, 2023 at U Nimman Hotel, Chiang Mai.

The success of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University which received accreditation for Engineering and Technology Certification from the Board (ABET) for six bachelor’s degree curriculums. This was the highest number of curriculums in Thailand. The six curriculums included, 1. Biomedical Engineering (International Program); 2. Computer Engineering; 3. Chemical Engineering; 4. Mechanical Engineering; 5. Electrical Engineering; and 6. Civil Engineering. The Department of Industrial Engineering was in the process of receiving accreditation.
