The Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University congratulates the sophomore students from the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University who have advanced to the final round of 10 teams in a social innovation prototype contest under "INNO for change 2021" project, organized by National Innovation Agency (NIA) in collaboration with the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA).
This project was under the scheme of “Next Normal-Social Innovation: Innovations for Emerging Societies after the Covid-19 Crisis”. The objective is to develop the competencies of undergraduate students; enhance innovative thinking skills; and promote the concept of social responsibility and sustainability.
The four teams include the ‘MU Biomed14’ team who presented the “Edge computing mirrors” which is a Mirror Assisted Diagnosis System (IoMT), the ‘APE 4.0’ team presenting the “APE Inno” which is an application to analyze the disease and collect data for care coordination, the ‘Rest in Pieces’ team presenting the “Recycled Paper from Contaminated Wastes” which is a smart trash bin to transform used papers into DIY ready-to-use papers, and the ‘GutenTag’ team presenting the “Integration of NFC Chips and Smartphone for Less Social Contact Life after COVID-19 Pandemic”.
Each selected team received about Ten Thousand Baht, as well as having the opportunity to participate in various innovation training activities with qualified mentors.
