On June 28, 2021, Professor ChangJiu Zhou, General Co-Chair of RoboCup 2021, RoboCup Trustee, and President of RoboCup Asia-Pacific (RCAP), co-chaired the online ‘RoboCup 2021 Handover Ceremony: From RoboCup 2021 Worldwide to RoboCup 2022 Thailand’.
Prof. Luca Iocchi, General Co-Chair of RoboCup 2021 and Vice President of RoboCup Federation, delivered a presentation to acknowledge and thank the RoboCup 2021 Sponsors and Partners.
Professor Peter Stone, General Chair of RoboCup 2021 and the President of RoboCup Federation, gave the ‘Handover Speech’.
This is a “Handover of the Leadership of RoboCup Annual Events from RoboCup 2021 to Organizers of RoboCup 2022”, he said.
He passed the baton of the organization of the RoboCup to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jackrit Suthakorn, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, and RoboCup Trustee.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jackrit Suthakorn mentioned that the organization of RoboCup 2022 Thailand is important not only for Education, Research, and Development along with Science and Technology, but also it is equally important for Thailand’s major industries, including Automotive, Computer, Food, and Agriculture.
RoboCup 2022 cooperates with N.C.C. International Events Co., Ltd. and Thai Robotics Society.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jackrit Suthakorn stated that Thailand has attended RoboCup competitions since 2003 by sending the first RoboCup representative team to the RoboCup Small-Size Soccer League. In 2006, our representative team from Thailand joined the RoboCup Rescue League and won the RoboCup Rescue Robot Championship.
In 2017, Thailand held the first RoboCup Asia-Pacific (RCAP) in conjunction with Thailand Robotics Week in order to kick off the international Robotics events in Thailand.
“RoboCup 2022 will be a turning point in our education, science and technology, and research as well as Thailand industry. It will definitely lead to impactful changes in South-East Asia and other Asia-Pacific countries. We highly hope that the pandemic will be over soon and RoboCuppers from all around the world can come and join us here. We expect to have more than three thousand participants in this international competition and we promise a wonderful social and intellectual experience in beautiful Thailand”, he continued.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jackrit Suthakorn welcomed all RoboCuppers to join the next RoboCup 2022 in Bangkok, Thailand.
