During COVID-19 outbreak, the whole world including Thailand innovators, doctors, and different sectors are mobilizing efforts to innovate and develop various technologies to cope with the current pandemic. In Thailand, Samut Sakhon Province was first to hit by the second wave of COVID-19 outbreak as it is an industrial hub with many migrant workers. On February 15, 2021 there were 15,753 cases of cumulative cases in Thailand, including 13,108 foreign and 2,645 Thai cases.
On February 22, 2021 the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University led by Assistant Professor Dr. Krissada Asavaskulkeit, Vice Dean for Cooperation and Social Responsibility, delivered the opening speech on "Basic Bicycle Repair Training Course". The objectives of this project were stated by Prof. Dr. Supun Tiptipakorn, Head of Electrical Engineering Department. Acting Sub Lt. Krithong Singkhamma, the Director of Bunyasrisawat School, handed over 30 recycled bicycles to the students of this school.
There was basic bicycle repair training for both students and teachers of Bunyasrisawat School by Mr. Piya Paiboonrungrod, Department of Electrical Engineering, Mr. Sompop Rattanpa, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Mr. Saichol Buachan, Department of Biomedical Engineering, and engineering team for social responsibility. The activities were designed to teach the basic bicycle repair skills which received a great attention from students.
