April 9, 2019, Songkran Festival, the Thai New Year, was celebrated in EG-MU. It began with merit-making, praying and offering food to the Buddhist monks.
Then, everyone performed water pouring on Buddha statues and elder professors’ hands. This practice represents purification and the washing away of one’s sins and bad luck.
Finally, elder professors wished everyone a year filled with joy, prosperity, and success.
We had a lunch party and after-lunch activities until 3 p.m.
