Under funding support by the ERASMUS+ programme of European Commission, Asst. Prof. Dr. Trakarn Prapaspongsa, head of Mahidol EcoLab (Eco-Efficient Engineering Research Lab), Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University was invited to be a visiting scholar in the Joint European Master Program in Environmental Studies – Cities & Sustainability at Aalborg University in Denmark from 6 to 27 October 2017. During the visit, Dr. Trakarn discussed opportunities for joint research and research applications within fields of life cycle assessment, UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), and sustainable cities; gave lectures in the topics of “Life Cycle Based Decision Support for Waste Management towards Sustainable Energy Production and Circular Economy” and “Life Cycle Based SCP Research in Thailand: Linkages with the SDGs and Sustainable City Development”; facilitated the Urban Design Studio 2017; as well as discussed potential student exchanges (from 2018 to 2020) with potential funding supports for students under the Joint European Master Program in Environmental Studies – Cities & Sustainability at Aalborg University and the International Master Programs in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering and Civil Engineering at Mahidol University.
