On August 21 st 2017, Double Master’s Degree Program between Mahidol University (International Masters Program in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering at Faculty of Engineering; EGEW) and Kyoto University (Global Environmental Studies Program at Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies; GSGES) organised the 1 st EGEW-GSGES Seminar 2017 entitled “Waste-to-Energy: Successful Technologies in Japan and Thailand”. In the seminar, Dr. Korporn Panyim, Vice Dean of Faculty of Engineering, delivered the welcome speech. Afterwards, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kazuyuki Oshita from Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies, Kyoto University presented the successful waste-to- energy technologies in Japan followed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Trakarn Prapaspongsa from Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University with presentation relating to the technologies in Thailand. This seminar aimed at demonstrating existing and emerging waste-to- energy technologies as well as the challenges and future perspectives in sustainable waste and wastewater management with efficient and safe energy recovery.
