On August 21 st 2017, Asst. Prof. Dr. Trakarn Prapaspongsa from International Masters Program in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering (EGEW), Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kazuyuki Oshita from Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies, Kyoto University; and Mr. Hideaki Anazawa, the 1 st Masters student in the Double Degree Program between Mahidol University and Kyoto University visited Nong Khaem Waste Water Treatment Plant with anaerobically digested sludge system in Bangkok
which is operated by Utility Business Alliance Co. Ltd. This visit is a part of problem-based learning research entitled “Material flow analysis of wastewater sludge treatment by various technologies in
Bangkok, Thailand”. The objectives of this research are to analyse the operation and management of sludge from the wastewater treatment plant in Bangkok; and to determine the most effective way by
using material flow analysis methodology.
Furthermore, this visit is also a part of the course “Skills Enhancement through Problem Based Learning” for the 2 nd year Masters students in the EGEW program at Mahidol University. The project under the course offered in 2017 will focus on the improvement of wastewater treatment coverage and efficiency in Thailand.
