On March 25, 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Benchaporn Lertanantawong, Deputy Dean for Research and Academic Services of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, welcomed delegates from The University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia. She was accompanied by Assistant Professor Dr. Konlakorn Wongpatikaseree, Head of the Department of Computer Engineering; Associate Professor Dr. Teraphan Ornthammarath, Head of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering; and Associate Professor Dr. Chularat Sakdaronnarong, Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering. The UNSW delegation included Professor Pierre Le Clech from the School of Chemical Engineering, Professor Denis O’Carroll from Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Associate Professor Tara Hamilton from Computer Science and Engineering. The meeting was held in Room R210, at the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University.
During the session, executives and faculty members from multiple departments - including Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering - outlined their academic strengths and research capabilities. The discussions were to develop mutual understanding and explore potential areas for future collaboration in education and research.
Following the meeting, the UNSW delegation visited Faculty laboratories. They engaged in in-depth discussions with faculty members across several disciplines: Computer Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. This provided a valuable platform for exchanging knowledge, sharing technological expertise, and identifying opportunities for joint research at the international level.
This visit marks an important step in strengthening academic partnerships and expanding collaborative networks between the two institutions. It also reinforces the commitment of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, to advancing global research and education, paving the way for sustainable international collaboration in the future.
