On 2 February 2026, members of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, led by Associate Professor Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean of the Faculty, visited Harbin Engineering University (HEU), People’s Republic of China. The Dean was accompanies by an executive team, including Assistant Professor Dr. Pattaraporn Posoknistakul, Deputy Dean for International Relations and Corporate Communication; Assistant Professor Dr. Wasaporn Techapeeraparnich, Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs; and Associate Professor Dr. Teraphan Ornthammarath, Head of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. They participated in the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the College of Aerospace and Civil Engineering, HEU.
The MOA is to promote academic cooperation between the two institutions, with a particular focus on student and faculty exchange, as well as the development of joint curricula and collaborative research. Both parties exchanged views on approaches to advancing engineering education in line with advances in global technology. They reaffirmed their commitment to a long-term academic partnership.
Associate Professor Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon delivered special lectures to graduate students and faculty members at the College of Aerospace and Civil Engineering, HEU. The Dean shared his insights and experience in teaching, research, and future trends in engineering development. This generated strong interest and academic discussion among the participants.
This visit reflects the strong commitment of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, to expanding international collaboration networks. Such cooperation provides valuable opportunities for students and academics to enhance their potential globally, develop knowledge, and contribute to elevating the quality of Thailand’s engineering education in response to the challenges of the digital era.
