On 16 December 2025, the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, presented research, innovations, and sustainable development projects at the Mahidol Sustainable Development Fair 2025, held under the theme “SDGs for Real World Impact: from Campus to Community.” The event turned academic knowledge into tangible policy and societal impact. The opening ceremony was presided over by Clinical Professor Emeritus Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn, Chairman of University Council, in the Foyer of Prince Mahidol Hall, Salaya Campus.
Associate Professor Dr. Trakarn Prapaspongsa, Chair of the Doctor of Philosophy Program in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering (International Program), Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, presented research outcomes and received SDGs-related awards and research funding for the 2025 fiscal year. The recognition highlights research excellence that aligns with the sustainable development policies of Mahidol University.
The Faculty received the SDGs Living Lab Funding Award for the Mahidol Engineering Zero Waste Living Lab: a living laboratory focused on zero-waste management initiatives. The Faculty was also honored with Outstanding Thesis Awards for two research projects that promote Mahidol University’s SDGs Policies: “Life Cycle Toxicity Assessment of Agricultural Systems in Thailand” by Dr. Phatchari Mankong, a doctoral student; and “Life Cycle Assessment of Agricultural Systems toward Circularity” by Mr. Thanakon Sukuman, a master’s student in the Environmental Engineering and Water Resources (International Program).
The event also featured a Student SDGs Project Sharing Session under the theme “Mapping the Sustainable Journey: Student SDGs Project Showcase from the SDGs+ Mobility MaPs 2025.” Student representatives from the Sustainable Development Goals + Mobility Program shared their experiences and outlined project outcomes. An exhibition showcasing sustainable development initiatives from units of Mahidol University were displayed, reflecting the University’s continuing role in advancing Sustainable Development Goals.
