On October 24, 2025, the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The University of Sheffield, United Kingdom, to establish a strong partnership in engineering education, research, and innovation at the global level.
The signing ceremony was led by Associate Professor Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, who was accompanied by Assistant Professor Dr. Narit Hnoohom, Assistant to the President for Information Technology and Digital Transformation; Assistant Professor Dr. Konlakorn Wongpatikaseree, Head of the Department of Computer Engineering; and Professor Paisarn Muneesawang, a lecturer in the Department of Computer Engineering. Professor Neil Sims, Director of One University, Faculty of Engineering, represented The University of Sheffield.
The MoU will promote and expand academic collaboration between the two institutions through activities, including faculty, researcher, and student exchanges; joint academic conferences and seminars; professional networking events; and collaborative research and innovation projects in engineering. The agreement will be valid for five years, with potential extensions for further cooperation in areas related to technology, engineering, and sustainable development.
Associate Professor Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon remarked, “This collaboration marks another significant step for Mahidol University’s Faculty of Engineering in connecting with world-class institutions. It will help enhance the quality of education, research, and innovation in Thailand, ensuring we keep pace with global progress in a sustainable way.”
The partnership between Mahidol Engineering and The University of Sheffield represents a shared vision to advance engineering knowledge and innovation for the benefit of global society.
