On July 30, 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the construction of a new outpatient building at Phutthamonthon Hospital. The agreement was signed in collaboration with Wat Suwannaram, the Tangsin Foundation, Ramada Plaza Menam Riverside Hotel, and Salaya One Hotel, Tangsin. The ceremony, held at the Phutthanusati Meeting Room, Health Promotion Building, Phutthamonthon Hospital, was also witnessed by faculty members from Mahidol Engineering.
The signing was honored by Professor Pharm. Dr. Naeti Suksomboon, Vice President for Education, representing the President of Mahidol University. The initiative was inspired by Mrs. Malee Tangsin and Mr. Decha Tangsin, who recognized the limitations of the current outpatient building, which has been in use for over 30 years. The existing structure is deteriorating, overcrowded, and unable to meet the growing demands of patients from surrounding communities and the general public. The construction of a new facility aims to improve service quality, accessibility, and healthcare coverage.
The new three-story building will be designed to accommodate modern healthcare needs. The first floor will house outpatient services, including consultation rooms, a medical records office, and a patient information center. The second floor will be dedicated to dental services and meeting rooms. The third floor will serve as a specialized inpatient ward, providing enhanced care for patients requiring focused treatment, and elevating the hospital's service standards.
This construction project is supported by design and technical input from Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin, in collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University. It represents a strong partnership between academia, religious institutions, and the private sector, all committed to developing sustainable health infrastructure and improving the quality of life for the public.
