On July 9, 2025, the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, hosted a congratulatory ceremony to honor two faculty members whose laboratories have received prestigious safety awards. The event was led by Associate Professor Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean of the Faculty, with Associate Professor Dr. Chularat Sakdaronnarong, Chair of the Department of Chemical Engineering, and faculty executives.
The recipients of the awards were Assistant Professor Dr. Weerawut Chaiwat, supervisor of EGCATLAB3_CH301/1, Energy and Green Catalyst Laboratory 3; and Assistant Professor Dr. Sakhon Ratchahat, supervisor of CARPLAB_CH116 – Catalyst and Carbon Nanotubes Reaction Process Prototyping Laboratory. Both are from the Department of Chemical Engineering.
The two laboratories were each awarded the Safe Laboratory Award through a Peer Evaluation process. They were also recognized with the Model Research Laboratory Award under the ESPREL (Enhancement of Safety Practice of Research Laboratory) standards for 2024. These honors underscore the strong commitment of the Faculty of Engineering to maintaining top-tier safety practices in research involving chemicals.
The event took place in Meeting Room R114, Building 1, on the 1st Floor of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University. It highlights the spirit of collaboration and pride shared within the Faculty in achieving exemplary safety standards in laboratory management.
