On July 9, 2025, the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, led by Associate Professor Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean, joined the official launch of “iDEA SPACE” — a newly established innovation showcase and collaboration space at Mahidol University. He was supported by Assistant Professor Dr. Krissada Asavaskulkeit, Deputy Director for Academic Service and Industry Partnership who is also Advisor to the Dean for Organizational Network Development, at the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University.

The iDEA SPACE initiative aims to connect academic research to real-world applications in society and industry, while also promoting entrepreneurship and sustainable innovation.

The event was presided over by Professor Dr. Piyamitr Sritara, President of Mahidol University. Several university executives, faculty members, and staff from various departments also attended. The ceremony took place at the 1st floor of the President’s Office Building, Salaya Campus.

Associate Professor Dr. Viriya Taecharungroj, Director of the Institute for Technology and Innovation Management (INT), shared the background and objectives of iDEA SPACE. He highlighted its role as a central platform for showcasing research, innovation, and technology with commercial and societal potential. The space will also serve as a dynamic venue for knowledge exchange, fostering collaboration between academia, businesses, and the general public, while inspiring future innovators and entrepreneurs.

iDEA SPACE presents impactful research and lays the foundations for strong partnerships between the academic sector and society. The initiative reflects the ongoing commitment of Mahidol University to the promotion of sustainable and inclusive innovation that benefits the broader community.
