On July 2, 2025, the Faculty of Engineering at Mahidol University organized the 2nd MUEG Discovery Day 2025, providing high school students with a hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of engineering as a future career. The event aimed to inspire students through lab-based learning, career guidance, and direct interaction with real engineering environments.
Associate Professor Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, delivered the welcoming remarks to students from schools across the country. He was joined by Assistant Professor Dr. Pattaraporn Posoknistakul, Deputy Dean for International Relations and Corporate Communication, who introduced the Faculty and its academic programs. The main briefing took place at Room 6450, 4th Floor, Building 3 (Red Building), Salaya Campus, Nakhon Pathom.
The morning session featured informative talks by Dr. Soontorn Tuntithanvornwat on the Thai University Central Admission System (TCAS), portfolio preparation, and interview techniques. Students gained valuable insights and inspiration from current engineering students who shared their university experiences. A highlight of the session was a special lecture titled “AI Can Help - If You Use It Right”, delivered by Dr. Jetsada Arnin, Assistant to the President for Education and a faculty member of Biomedical Engineering. This received great interest from the students attending.
In the afternoon, students participated in hands-on experiences across the nine engineering disciplines at the Faculty: Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering (International Program), Civil and Environmental Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Industrial Engineering (International Program).
Over 200 students from grades 10 to 12 attended the event. The MUEG Discovery Day continues to serve as a platform for students to explore their passions through the real-world learning experience, while also motivating them to pursue higher education and careers in engineering with confidence.
