On June 26, 2025, a delegation from the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Pattaraporn Posoknistakul, Deputy Dean for International Relations and Corporate Communication, Associate Dean for International Relations and Corporate Communications, visited the University of Osaka in Japan to explore and expand academic collaboration between the two institutions. During the visit, the team met with Professor Hiroshi Umakoshi, Vice Dean of the Graduate School of Engineering Science, for in-depth discussions on future joint programs and research initiatives.
The delegation also had the opportunity to visit Mahidol students currently enrolled in the Double Degree Program at Osaka University, as well as Thai students in research internships in university laboratories across Japan. These first-hand interactions reaffirmed the value of the international learning experience and the strong academic ties already in place.
Further discussions focused on increasing student exchange opportunities through short-term research programs, and extending the existing collaboration beyond engineering to include other disciplines. Both sides emphasized the importance of fostering sustainable academic and research partnerships that benefit students and faculty members alike.
This visit reflects Mahidol Engineering’s commitment to advancing global academic partnerships and building research networks with top universities worldwide. Through such strategic efforts, the faculty aims to enhance the global competitiveness of Thai higher education and support meaningful international engagement in engineering and beyond.
