On June 5, 2025, the Faculty of Engineering at Mahidol University welcomed a delegation of executives and faculty members from Walailak University. The visit began with a welcome address by Assistant Professor Dr. Korporn Panyim, Deputy Dean for Administration and Finance. This was followed by an introductory video showcasing the academic vision and initiatives of the Faculty.
The primary focus of the visit was to exchange knowledge regarding the preparation for obtaining ABET accreditation, a globally recognized standard for engineering education. The experience of Faculty personnel would be invaluable in helping those from Walailuk University to deal with the complex process. Key speakers included Assistant Professor Dr. Theeraporn Rubcumintara, Advisor to the Dean for Organizational Development and Educational Quality, and Assistant Professor Dr. Wasaporn Techapeeraparnich, Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs. They shared practical insights alongside those of department heads and program chairs who successfully managed the ABET process. The session was held in Meeting Room R114, Building 1, Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University.
Following the knowledge-sharing session, the Walailak University delegation toured modern laboratories of four academic departments: Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The visit was organized in groups to ensure participants were thoroughly able to explore each facility. All laboratories are equipped to meet international standards, supporting both education and innovation.
This collaborative exchange marked a significant step in strengthening the academic partnership between the two universities. It also reaffirmed the role of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, as a leading institution committed to excellence in engineering education and to the promotion of global standards through shared learning and professional development.
