On May 27, 2025, the Faculty of Engineering at Mahidol University hosted a hands-on training event entitled “EG Quality Day” at the Innogineer Studio. The workshop aimed to enhance the skills of participants in continuous improvement and cost reduction, using the Lean tools and Design Thinking approach.
The training focused on the theme, “Techniques for Continuous Work Improvement and Cost Reduction Using Lean Tools.” Associate Professor Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, presided over the opening ceremony. The session featured a lecture on applying the PDCA cycle and identifying work-related wastes, delivered by Dr. Jetsada Arnin, Assistant to the President for Education at Mahidol University. Participants were assigned a take-home analysis task to help them apply the concepts to their own work processes.
A second session will take place on June 4, 2025, with the theme “Workshop on Collaborative Planning for Value Creation Using Design Thinking.” This session will include guidance on creating Service Level Agreements (SLAs), group brainstorming activities, and presentations of improvement plans from the 13 participating units.
The EG Quality Day initiative reflects the commitment of the Faculty of Engineering to boosting staff performance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation to reach sustainable excellence.
