On May 23, 2025, the Engineering for Social Responsibility Unit of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, led by Associate Professor Dr. Benchaporn Lertanantawong, Deputy Dean for Research and Academic Services, joined a workshop to strengthen the network of the Nakhon Pathom Provincial Farmers Council. Mr. Worawit IsrangkulNa Ayutthaya, a lecturer from the Department of Electrical Engineering, was a guest speaker. He delivered a lecture on the topic "IoT for Smart Sensors in Agriculture. Personnel from the Engineering for Social Responsibility Unit, also joined the workshop. It was organized by the Nakhon Pathom Provincial Farmers Council at the Khok Nong Na Model Learning Center, Khlong Yong, Phutthamonthon, Nakhon Pathom.
The seminar was honored to have Ms. Kanlayakorn Mahawannam, Head of the Nakhon Pathom Provincial Farmers Council Office, deliver the opening ceremony and preside over the opening ceremony of the event. The seminar was organized to help members of the Farmers Council Network improve their understanding of modern agriculture and related technologies. It was also to promote exchanges of experience, and cooperation, while informing those attending about approaches to sustainable and efficient agricultural development in the area.
The Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, shared its knowledge of engineering technology and innovation and provided knowledge to the farmers, supporting the goal of the project: elevating the potential of local farmers so that they can apply the knowledge in practical ways.
This collaboration reflects the role of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, in helping Thai society advance with knowledge about science and technology. The responsible participation by the Faculty in local communities, provides tangible benefits for implementation of new ideas.
