Assistant Professor Dr. Thanakorn Uan-on (Ajarn Uan) was the founder of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies and the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University. He was appointed as the first Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. Throughout his civil service, he was a person with morality and ethics that are worthy of praise. In terms of being a teacher, he was a teacher who helped people develop. All students loved him. They were proud of him, and respected his sacrifices, patience, and determination in teaching and training students until they progressed in their careers.
He passed away peacefully on May 12, 2011, at the age of 66. From that day, 14 years have passed. Neither his life nor his spirit have diminished or disappeared. Instead, we have been left with the two faculties, the buildings, the trees, the roofs, the classrooms. They have been passed on to his beloved students through his teachings and knowledge that he gave them, which will always be hard to forget.
