On May 13, 2025, the Engineering for Social Responsibility of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University organized a ceremony to deliver an innovative Braille Mobile Battery Charger to Luang Phor Pern Hospital, Nakhon Pathom Province as part of the MUEG Mobile Battery Charger 2024 project. This aims to promote access to technology for the visually impaired and increase the efficiency of public health services at the community level.
The ceremony was honored by Mr. Worawit Israngkul Na Ayutthaya, a lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering and former Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, gave a talk on the origin, objectives, and intentions of the project. Dr. Witsawa Srinuthaphong, Director of Luang Phor Pern Hospital, and Phra Khru Anukulphisankit, Abbot of Wat Bang Phra were recipients of the device.
On this occasion, we were also honored by Mr. Thewarit Thamkulkunakorn, Managing Director of Linktech (Thailand) Co., Ltd., He joined the event and, in the morning, shared knowledge on Modern Renewable Energy Innovation to medical personnel and interested people in attendance.
In the afternoon he spoke on Maintenance and Care of Mobile Phone Charging Stations, with support from expert speakers including Mr. Aphinop Pornsri and Mr. Khwanchai Chuensangchan from the Engineering for Social Responsibility.
This project is another example of cooperation between universities, the private sector and local agencies that jointly promote the use of technology for the benefit of society. The project specifically supports vulnerable groups assisting them to have equal access to innovations. It also reaffirms the role of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, in creating sustainable innovations for public benefit.
