On February 10, 2025, the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, led by Associate Professor Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean, along with Assistant Professor Dr. Pattaraporn Posoknistakul, Deputy Dean for International Relations and Special Affairs, and faculty members from the Department of Computer Engineering, welcomed Professor Sambit Datta, Dean Global of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, and Professor Melanie Johnston-Hollitt, Director of the Curtin Institute of Data Science, along with executives from Curtin University, Australia.
The visit aimed to foster academic and research collaboration in Data Science and AI Engineering. The meeting, held at the Assistant Professor Kanit Sa-ngwantrakul Meeting Room, Building 1, 1st Floor, Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, provided an overview of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, and highlighted its partnership with Queen Mary University of London. Discussions focused on potential collaborations, including undergraduate programs in AI Engineering, master’s programs in Predictive Analytics, doctoral programs in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and joint research projects supported by the Australian government.
As part of the visit, the Curtin University delegation toured the Department of Computer Engineering’s laboratory. This visit marks an important step in strengthening international collaboration, paving the way for enhanced research and development opportunities for students and faculty members of both institutions.
