The Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, through the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and led by Prof. Dr. Chettiyapan Visvanthan, organized a Provincial Workshop on Bankable Project Formulation for Addressing Plastic Waste in Buriram on December 12, 2024, at the VIP Lounge, 3rd floor, Chang Arena, Buriram Province.

The event featured a welcome video from Associate Professor Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, and a special lecture on “Sustainable Plastic Waste Management in Buriram Province” by expert speakers, including Associate Professor Dr. Komsilp Wangyao and Dr. Abhisit Bhatsada from the Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment, King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi. The objective of the workshop was to enhance knowledge and understanding of sustainable plastic waste management while transferring technology and innovations in plastic recycling to create added value for the circular economy. This event served as an important platform for knowledge exchange and fostering collaboration among the government, academic, and private sectors. The focus was on developing innovative solutions for efficient plastic waste management to address the challenges in Buriram Province.
