On September 12, 2024, the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, represented by the Department of Engineering for Social Responsibility, hosted a handover ceremony for the school waste bank system at Phrapathom Witthayalai 2 School, Nakhon Pathom Province. The event was led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Krissada Asavaskulkeit, Deputy Dean for Academic Services and Policy Advocacy, who delivered the opening speech. Ms. Kanda Hongwiangchan, Director of Phrapathom Witthayalai 2 School, also spoke about the benefits the school has received from the project. The ceremony was part of the project titled “Development of Educational System Innovation with Information Technology.” It featured training sessions on the use of the recycling waste bank system, as well as skill-building activities. The sessions were led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Rossukon Thappron, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Digital Technology, Rajapruk University.
This project has brought significant benefits to the school and the surrounding community, including:
1.Development of IT-based life experience curriculum.
2.Enhanced knowledge and skills among teachers and students in utilizing the IT system to support the waste bank system.
3.Implementation of an efficient waste bank system at the school.
4.Increased community awareness and knowledge regarding IT systems, waste separation, waste volume, waste pricing, and types of waste.
5.Recognition of the community as one with a modern educational institution.
6.Raised standards of IT education quality within the school.
The Engineering for Social Responsibility Department, in collaboration with Rajapruk University, continues to support key activities that are necessary for the further development of teaching and learning at the school. All departments of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, are committed to ensuring these efforts remain effective and sustainable in the long term.
