From August 28-30, 2024, the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, through its Engineering for Social Responsibility Department, organized a project focused on promoting the efficient use of renewable energy in temples and local communities. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, honored the event and welcomed participants. The project was officially opened by Asst. Prof. Dr. Krissada Asavaskulkeit, Deputy Dean for Academic Services and Policy Advocacy. Phra Maha Wichien Srichan, Director of the Educational Policy and Planning Division and Abbot of Wat Maha Sawat Nak Phuttharam, also spoke about the benefits the project brings to the community during the session at Innogineer Studio on August 30, 2024.
The project featured expert speakers who shared their knowledge with participants from temples, Buddhist schools, and local communities in the central region. A key focus was on developing teachers' skills in creating educational media using engineering innovations that harness renewable energy from waste materials. These innovations can be applied effectively in schools to enhance teaching in technology, engineering, and other related fields. The project aims to upgrade educational quality and accessibility, enabling teachers to pass on their knowledge to other educators in their communities. This initiative helps to expand the dissemination of prototype knowledge to temples, communities, and society, promoting sustainable development through renewable energy.
