During July 8-9, 2024, the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, participated in Coding Bootcamp " Roadshow and Coding War activities in the central region under the "Coding for Better Life" project: Building the Foundation for Thailand's Future. This event was organized by Bangkok's Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, with Mr. Prasert Jantararuangtong, Minister of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, chairing the opening of the activity. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nuttapon Nimmanphatcharin, President of the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), and Mr. Chatchai Khunpitiluck, SEVP of the Digital Ecosystem Promotion Unit, were also in attendance, along with representatives from the private sector, educational institutions, and a large group of teachers, students, parents, and the general public. The event was held at Centara Life Hotel, Government Complex and Convention Center, Chaengwattana. The event featured expert speakers in AI and digital technology from various institutions, both public and private, who joined discussions and provided knowledge. The Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, contributed with presentations on the following topics: -"Guidelines for Supporting and Promoting Personnel in Coding and AI" by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.
- "Guidelines for Integrating Knowledge in Coding and AI into Teaching and Learning in Schools and Developing Projects with the Community" by Assoc. Prof. Panrasee Ritthipravat, lecturer in the Department of Biomedical Engineering.
- "Is the AI Era Really Making Thai People Unemployed?" by Dr. Jetsada Arnin, Assistant Dean for Corporate Communications and lecturer in the Department of Biomedical Engineering.
- "Opportunities for Those Who Know About AI to Make More Profits Than Before" by Assoc. Prof. Jackrit Suthakorn, founder of the Center for Biomedical and Robotics Technology (BART LAB) from the Department of Biomedical Engineering.
The next Coding Bootcamp & Roadshow event will be held at Sunee Grand Hotel, Ubon Ratchathani Province, between July 11-12. The Coding War activity will take place at the depa office building, Lower Northeast Branch, between July 11-13.
