On June 18, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to foster cooperation between the public and private sectors (PPP: Public Private Partnership). This collaboration involves the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, represented by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), and private companies including RFS Company Limited (Ramathibodi Facilities Services), Bangkok Nanny Center Company Limited (Go Mamma), Wheel of Joy Company Limited (JoyRide), and SCGJWD Academy Company Limited. The agreement aims to develop a platform facilitating travel for the elderly and disabled at the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University.
The Centre of Logistics Management and Healthcare Supply Chain (LogHealth) at the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, has received research funding from NRCT to develop this platform. The platform is designed to support bookings, manage travel for seniors and people with disabilities to various locations, provide round-trip tracking of pick-ups and drop-offs, and monitor the usage of services by the elderly and disabled. It supports use through mobile applications and websites. This cooperation aims to expand the research results from developing and connecting innovative platform systems for facilitating the transportation of the elderly. It will also support various activities that offer benefits, with an emphasis on the safety of patients, the elderly, and the disabled. Additionally, the development of logistics courses will be enhanced, fostering new business opportunities in innovative logistics for the elderly between the public and private sectors.
