The Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, congratulates Team CHE_MU and its members: Mr. Nathan Jangjit, Ms. Chutima Chinwongchan, Mr. Jirapat Wattasiri, Mr. Punyapat Yomphayom and Mr. Pakapol Udompanichwong. These are all third-year students studying on the Bachelor of Engineering Program in Chemical Engineering (Thai Program). They won the Second Runner-up prize in a project competition: Recycling Waste Heat into Electrical Power Using a Thermoelectrical Generator (TEG). They were awarded a 50,000 Baht scholarship, and a trophy.
Under the guidance of Dr. Suwin Apichartpattanasiri and Associate Professor Dr. Somboon Chaemchuen, the team developed an innovative system that efficiently converts waste heat into electrical energy. Their design employs Thermoelectrical Generator (TEG) technology, which promotes eco-friendly energy recovery and helps reduce industrial energy losses, reflecting the students’ commitment to sustainable engineering practices.
The project was supported by the Power Development Fund of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) for the year 2024, as part of the initiative: Young Change World Change. This program encourages young innovators in Thailand to apply their engineering knowledge to create sustainable energy innovations that contribute to society and environmental well-being.
This achievement showcases the creativity and technical abilities of engineering students at Mahidol University. It highlights the dedication of the Faculty of Engineering in nurturing future engineers who drive innovation and sustainability - empowering the next generation of students to transform the world through science and technology.
