On August 21st 2017, Double Masters Degree Program between Mahidol University (International Masters Program in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering - EGEW at Faculty of Engineering) and Kyoto University (Global Environmental Studies Program at Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies; GSGES organised the 1st EGEW-GSGES Seminar 2017 entitled “Waste-to-Energy: Successful Technologies in Japan and Thailand”. In the seminar, Dr. Korporn Panyim, Vice Dean, Faculty of Engineering, delivered the welcome speech. Afterwards, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kazuyuki Oshita from GSEGS, Kyoto University presented the successful waste-to-energy technologies in Japan followed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Trakarn Prapaspongsa from EGEW, Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University presenting the currently used technologies in Thailand. This seminar aimed at demonstrating existing and emerging waste-to-energy technologies as well as the challenges and future perspectives in sustainable waste and wastewater management with efficient and safe energy recovery.
