EDUCATIONAL AND RESEARCH COLLABORATION SEMINAR BETWEEN KYOTO UNIVERSITY AND MAHIDOL UNIVERSITY

On Janaury 8th 2018, An Educational and Research Collaboration Seminar was organized to strengthen the on-going active collaboration between Kyoto University and Mahidol University. In this seminar, Mahidol University had a chance to welcome two special guests from Kyoto University, Professor Shigeo Fujii from the Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies (GSGES) and Junior Associate Professor Taira Hidaka, Department of Environmental Engineering and Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Management Center, Graduate School of Engineering.   

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suwanna Kitpati Boontanon, Civil and Environmental Engineering Department and Dr. Sira Srinives, Chemical Engineering Department, the in-charge and MC of this event, began the seminar with the welcome speeches delivered by Dr. Wasaporn Techapeeraparnich, Head of Civil and Environmental Engineering Department and Visiting Prof. Dr. Ranjna Jindal, Ph.D. Program Director of Environmental Water Resources Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, followed by a special presentation entitled “Introduction of Kyoto Univeristy for Mahidol University Students” by Prof. Shigeo Fujii.

Afterwards, Ms. Suratsawadee Sukeesan (A recipient of 2017 GSGES Spring Semester Course scholarship) and Mr. Rangsalid Panyadee (A 2016 Summer Intern of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fumitake Nishimura) gave a presentation to share their working and traveling experiences in Kyoto University followed by a presentation about study life and experience of becoming student at Kyoto University presented by Mr. Hideaki Anazawa (2017 Double Masters Degree Student of Kyoto University and Mahidol University). This was Followed by a presentation from Ms. Apisara Boonya-atichart (A recipient of 2017 Spring School in GSGES Scholarship), who shared her experience from Spring School Program.

Next section included presentations from six bachelor degree students and four master degree students who will be participate in the Education and Research collaboration Programs at Kyoto University this year, 2018. Students introduced themselves and presented their aims and prospected research at Kyoto University.

Closing remarks were delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Wanida Koo-amornpattana,Head of Chemical
Engineering Department.
