On 15 January 2018, Vicko Andreas Panjaitan from Indonesia, our recent masters graduate in 2017 passed away in his hometown. Indeed a very shocking and saddening experience for our graduate program. The International Masters and PhD Programs in Environmental & Water Resources Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University had a condolence gathering to remember Vicko and offer prayers for his peaceful journey to the other world.
Visiting Prof. Dr. Ranjna Jindal, Program Director of International PhD Program in Environmental & Water Resources Engineering and the Major Advisor of Vicko, remembered him while choking with emotions, followed by brief remarks by Vicko’s Co-advisor – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kimberley Irvine from Nanyang Technological University of Singapore and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suwanna Boontanon, Program Director of International Masters Program in Environmental & Water Resources Engineering.
Afterwards, flowers were offered in front of Vicko’s portrait by all who had gathered to remember him.
