During 29 November - 1 December, 2017, International Masters and PhD Programs in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University held a training program for officials of Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) of Pakistan supported by Nihon Suido Consultants Co., Ltd, Japan. This training program aimed at sharing the knowledge and experiences in sewerage systems management and wastewater treatment in Thailand. The Dean of Engineering Faculty (Dr. Jackrit Suthakorn), the Head of Civil and Environmental Engineering Department (Dr. Wasaporn Techapeeraparnich) and the Program Director of International PhD Program in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering (Dr. Ranjna Jindal) kindly welcomed all the participants from Pakistan and Japan.
During three days of the training, participants had some valuable learning experiences through the presentations given by the lecturers from Mahidol University, Dr. Suwanna Kitpati Boontanon (the in-charge of this training program) and Dr. Nawatch Surinkul, as well as a special guest from Pollution Control Department (PCD), Dr. Wilasinee Saktaywin. Participants also had opportunity to learn the experience sharing about the Master Plan of Bangkok Wastewater Treatment and Management by Dr. Pathan Banjongproo from Department of Drainage and Sewerage, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA). They had also the chance to go for field visits to Nong Khaem Wastewater Treatment Plant, Bangkok Province and surveyed the decentralized wastewater treatment and management system in rural area at Nakhon Chai Si Wastewater Treatment Plant and Sam Khwai Phueak Wastewater Treatment Plant, Nakorn Pathom Province.
