คณะวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล เห็นความสำคัญในการปลูกฝังจิตสำนึก ในเรื่องรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อมให้กับนักศึกษา จึงได้มีรายวิชาที่เกี่ยวข้องกับสิ่งแวดล้อม เพื่อมุ่งหวังเป็นอย่างยิ่งว่าจะช่วยให้นักศึกษา ได้ตระหนักถึงสิ่งแวดล้อม ทั้งในช่วงที่กำลังศึกษาและเมื่อจบการศึกษาไปประกอบอาชีพในสาขาวิชาชีพเฉพาะอย่างวิศวกรรม
