Mahidol Engineering organised Sustainability, Healthcare Supply Chain and Logistics Management Seminar under support by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation Programme

On June 12^th 2017, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Healthcare Supply Chain Excellence Centre (LogHealth), Department of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University organised a seminar on Sustainability, Healthcare Supply Chain and Logistics Management.  Asst. Prof. Dr. Jackrit Suthakorn, Dean of Faculty of Engineering, and Dr. Wasaporn Tchapeeraparnich, Head of Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering delivered the welcome and closing remarks. This seminar aimed to present the outstanding research of professors and graduate students of Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Department of Industrial Engineering, as well as the research of one PhD student from Liverpool Logistics, Offshore and Marine (LOOM) Research Institute, Department of Maritime and Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Liverpool John Moores University.  A part of research presented in the seminar was from a project  entitled “REliability and Safety Engineering and Technology for large maritime engineering systems (RESET)” funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.

The research presentations included “EcoCompass - the Guiding Tool for Sustainability” by Asst. Prof. Dr. Trakarn Prapaspongsa (from International Graduate Programs in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering); “Life Cycle Assessment of Major Agricultural Crops and Human Toxicity Impacts from the Use of Agricultural Chemicals in Thailand” by Ms. Pattaramart Makmoon (from International Masters Program in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering); “National Drug Database for Healthcare Supply Chain” by Assoc. Prof. Duangpun Singkarin; “Sustainable Maritime Transport Systems” by Mrs. Orawan Mokkhavas; “Enterprise Software for Healthcare Logistics” by Ms. Nipapan Ananpalawat, and “Research on Risk Assessment Method for Healthcare Supply Chain in Hospital - An investigation of Efficiency of Risk Mitigation Strategy in Healthcare Supply Chain” by Mr. Lei Wang.

The RESET project with total funding of €1,417,500 from EU is collaborative research among 9 universities from 7 countries - Liverpool John Moores University (UK), Aalto University (Aalto-Korkeakoulusäätiö; Finland), Instituto Superior Tecnico, Universidade of Lisbon (Portugal), Leibniz University Hannover (Germany), University of Plymouth (UK), Mahidol University (Thailand), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (National University of Malaysia; Malaysia), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (Malaysia), and Wuhan University of Technology (China). The RESET project leader at Mahidol University is Asst. Prof. Dr. Wonsiri Punurai and the team members include Asst. Prof. Dr. Trakarn Prapaspongsa, Asst. Prof.Dr. Yasothorn Sapsathiarn, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Teraphan Ornthammarath from Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering. Under this project, there will be short- and long-term visits of professors and researchers from all partner universities in order to carry out research and organise seminars as well as international conferences from 2017 to 2021.
