Another three presentations were also delivered by Mahidol EcoLab members - Ms. Pattaramart Makmoon and Ms. Phatcharakorn Sakphengfrom International Master Program in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering; and Ms. Orawan Mokkhavas from International PhD Program in Logistics and Engineering Management. In 2021, the 8th International Conference onGreen and Sustainable Innovation (ICGSI) 2021 will be hosted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Charongpun Musikavong (chairman) from Prince of Songkla Universityand Asst. Prof. Dr. TrakarnPrapaspongsa (co-chairman) from Mahidol University.
The LCA Food-LCA Agrifood Asia-ICGSI 2018 participation has been a partnership with the Research Chair on Life Cycle Assessment (RCLCA) team. The RCLCA team has collaboratively worked on the project entitled “Network for Research and Innovation for Trade and Production of Sustainable Food and Bioenergy” under the NSTDA research chair grant 2016, led by Prof. Shabbir H. Gheewala from the Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment, King Mongkut's University of Technology, Thonburi. This research team consists of 10 researchers from 7 leading universities in Thailand including King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, Mahidol University, Kasetsart University, Prince of Songkla University, Chiang Mai University, Mahasarakham University and Thammasat University. Under the project, Asst. Prof. Dr. Trakarnand Mahidol EcoLab members have worked on the development and application of a life cycle impact assessment method for supporting sustainable food innopolis and bioenergy industry in Thailand.
Furthermore, the research work presented at this conference is also a part of the project entitled “REliability and Safety Engineering and Technology for large maritime engineering systems (RESET)”. The RESET project (with total funding of €1,417,500 from EU) is collaborative research among 9 universities from 7 countries– Liverpool John Moores University (UK), Aalto University (Aalto-Korkeakoulusäätiö; Finland), Instituto Superior Tecnico, Universidade of Lisbon (Portugal), Leibniz University Hannover (Germany), University of Plymouth (UK), Mahidol University (Thailand), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (National University of Malaysia; Malaysia), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (Malaysia), and Wuhan University of Technology (China). The RESET project leader at Mahidol University is Asst. Prof. Dr. Wonsiri Punurai and the team members include Asst. Prof. Dr. Trakarn Prapaspongsa, Asst. Prof. Dr. Yasothorn Sapsathiarn, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Teraphan Ornthammarath from Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering. Under this project, there would be short- and long-term visits of professors and researchers from all partner universities in order to carry out research and organise seminars as well as international conferences from 2017 to 2021.
