On 29 March 2017, Asst. Prof. Dr. Trakarn Prapaspongsa from International Graduate Programs in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University received a certificate for being the member of the research team, the recipient of the NSTDA research chair grant 2016 from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn during the 13th NSTDA Annual Conference (NAC 2017) at Thailand Science Park Convention Center. The project entitled “Network for Research and Innovation for Trade and Production of Sustainable Food and Bioenergy” under the NSTDA research chair grant 2016, led by Prof. Shabbir H. Gheewala from the Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment, King Mongkut's University of Technology, Thonburi will be undertaken from 2017 to 2022. This research network consists of 10 researchers from 6 leading universities in Thailand including King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, Mahidol University, Kasetsart University, Prince of Songkla University, University of Phayao and Mahasarakham University. The main aim of this research is to obtain information and knowledge from life cycle sustainability assessment for supporting policy decisions on sustainable food and renewable energy as well as for supporting industry and government in order to achieve Thailand’s sustainable development goals. Under the project, Asst. Prof. Dr. Trakarn from Mahidol University will develop and apply a life cycle impact assessment method for supporting sustainable food innopolis and bioenergy industry in Thailand.
