On 23 May 2017, Asst. Prof. Dr. Trakarn Prapaspongsa, head of Mahidol EcoLab (Eco-Efficient Engineering Research Lab), International Graduate Programs in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University co-organised the Sustainability Seminar entitled “Food, Fuel and Climate Change: Life Cycle Based Tools to Support Trade and Policy” along with5 Thai universitiesincluding King Mongkut's University of Technology, Thonburi, Kasetsart University, Prince of Songkla University, University of Phayao and Mahasarakham University. This public seminar hosted by the Joint Graduate School of Energy Environment, King Mongkut's University of Technology, Thonburi was a part of two projects “Research Network for LCA and Policy on Food, Fuel and Climate Change (2012-2017)” and “Network for Research and Innovation for Trade and Production of Sustainable Food and Bioenergy (2017-2022)” funded by National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA). The main aim of this seminar was to illustrate how LCA and other sustainability tools can be applied to support future decisions of government and food and bioenergy industry towards Thailand 4.0 goals.
