On 2 and 23 March 2017, Asst. Prof. Dr. Trakarn Prapaspongsa, head of Mahidol EcoLab (Eco-Efficient Engineering Research Lab) along with her research team from International Graduate Programs in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University met with the representatives from Thailand Pesticide Alert Network (Thai-PAN) and Bureau of Occupational and Environmental Diseases, Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health in order to discuss future research collaborations. The meeting aimed at presenting the overall framework of the project “Development and Application of Life Cycle Impact Assessment Method for Supporting Sustainable Food Innopolis and Bioenergy Industry in Thailand” - a sub-project under “Network for Research and Innovation for Trade and Production of Sustainable Food and Bioenergy” project - funded by National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA Research Chair Grant 2016). The specific focus of the meeting was to discuss potential collaboration during the 1st phase of the project. This phase relates to the development of methods for assessing human toxicity impacts of the use of agricultural chemicals; and respiratory impacts of the particulate matter and inorganic substances from agricultural practices in Thailand.
