This Biomass Engineering and Technology research groups includes highly hierarchical bio-based materials that are made from biological components. Over the past decades it has become clear that the chemical industry has to look for biological renewable feedstocks to produce sustainable plastics and materials in the immediate future. Our recent focusing research are including developing breakthrough formation approaches for lignin-based materials, nano-structures hydrogels, biodegradable polymer, etc. We emphasize the development of these novel materials into innovative products with high added value for technical and medical applications.
