Program Objectives:

  • To produce and develop highly competent personnel in the rail industry with a comprehensive understanding of rail transport systems.
  • To support the national development strategy that addresses the expansion of the rail industry in Thailand and at the international level.
  • To promote collaboration between the industrial sector, educational institutions, and research agencies, enhancing the capacity to design, manufacture, operate, and maintain rail systems.
  • To create research or innovations in collaboration with the government and the industrial sector.

Highlights of the Sandbox Program:

  • Comprehensive learning of strategies to address problems and develop products/services that meet user needs.
  • Emphasis on the integration of rail systems and subsystems (System Integration).
  • Less core courses with more freedom to choose elective courses and more collaboration with industries.
  • Students have more flexibility with a diverse selection of electives available to address research topics and accommodate varying knowledge backgrounds.
  • Support continuous development to foster new research or innovation.
  • Focus on collaborative projects with rail research institutions, government agencies, and rail industry stakeholders.

Core Courses:

  • Rail Systems Engineering (Emphasizes the interfaces between rail subsystems)
  • Advanced Research Methodology and Seminar (For Ph.D. students, focuses on conducting research with new contribution)

Elective Courses:

A wide range of elective courses is available, covering all disciplines. Students can select courses based on their research topics.
